ABOUT US

Although Walt Averill and Máire Murphy grew up on opposite sides of the world they both shared a passion for wine at an early age. Mentored by her parents, Máire visited her first winery (Cheval Blanc!) at age 15. Six thousand miles away, at age 14 Walt tagged along on his mother’s trips to Napa Valley and collected corks and labels while she tasted the wines.

Máire and Walt both started working in the wine business when they were 16 and both earned degrees in Business Administration with Marketing concentrations whilst working in the industry. They now have a combined experience of over 55 years covering a broad range of skills including Sales and Sales Management (direct and three-tier), Marketing, Winery Management and Production including custom branding and bottling. There isn’t much they haven’t done at some stage in their long and productive careers, but they do still get asked to shovel out tanks during harvest.
